Yeeha! We got lost. No really, we think, that's an achievement. So far everything went far too smooth. No farang in his right mind can travel through Thailand on his own without getting lost. Hey, all the train timetables are written in Thai (which means, you get a list of different day times with some hieroglyphes in front), all the station signs and all the road signs. Even the toilet signs, as we learnt today!
Anyway, we arrived last night after sundown some place and followed the map to the youth hostel we printed from the internet (it was the first time we had pre-booked our accomodation!). With a few blips here and there, it went alright. And so did we, on and on. I remember Stella saying "Well, youth hostels ALWAYS are out of town".
To cut a long story short, the youth hostel was about 60 miles 'out of town'. :) It was called "Prachuap youth hostel" on the net, because it was located in the PROVINCE of Prachuap, not the town of the same name. Tee-hee. Anyway, we found a jewel - a great place to stay, fabulous beach, impressive mountaineous coastline, a cinema and we'll try again tomorrow!

Juhuu! Wir haben uns verlaufen. Na also bitte, wir finden, dass das ein Erfolgserlebnis ist. Bisher hat alles viel zu reibungslos geklappt. Kein normaler Farang kann durch Thailand reisen, ohne wenigstens einmal verloren zu gehen. Schliesslich sind alle Zugfahrplaene auf Thai (d.h. man hat ne Liste verschiedener Tageszeiten mit Hieroglyphen davor), alle Bahnhofsschilder und alle Strassenschilder. Sogar die Toilettenschilder, wie wir heute gesehen haben!
Wie auch immer, wir sind nach Sonnenuntergang gestern angekommen (so um 7) und sind der vom Internet ausgedruckten Karte gefolgt (es war das erste Mal, dass wir unsere Unterkunft im voraus gebucht hatten!). Mit ein paar Abstrichen hier und da lief es ganz gut. Und das taten wir auch, immer weiter und weiter. Ich erinnere mich noch, wie Stella irgendwann sagte "Naja, Jugendherbergen sind immer etwas ausserhalb".
Um es kurz zu machen, die Jugendherberge war ca. 80 km 'ausserhalb'. :) Auf ihrer Webseite hiess sie 'Prachuap Youth Hostel', benannt nach der PROVINZ, in der sie liegt, nicht nach der gleichnamigen Stadt. Hihihi. Egal, wir haben ein Juwel entdeckt - eine grossartige Unterkunft, nen fabelhaften Strand, beeindruckendes Bergpanorama, ein Kino und wir versuchen's morgen nochmal!
