We are southbound, it's getting colder. Woah, it must get down to about 15 degrees at night now... time for socks and things... Katherine is a very small town about 350 km south of Darwin, with a 'school on air' museum and a closeby Gorge. 'Unfortunately' we have checked in to Coco's Backpackers, the most relaxed of its kind. Which is saying something. So I have so far only made it out of the gate to do some food shopping, little additions to the free rice every day, or walk to the Internet Cafe (at 8 bucks an hour, so I'll be quick).
Coco's family is from Fiji and he's into aboriginal art. So the days are just packed with exchanging travel and life stories, tea drinking, didgeridoo playing and shadow-bathing under the corrugated tin roof amongst paintings and reliqs of travellers from the last decades. These days the regulars are getting more excited about the non-existant european soccer news in the local press. After all, they ARE from such football nations like Austria and Switzerland... In an hour or so we're off to the Barunga Festival. See ya!

Und das will was heissen.
