Ok, zurueck zur Reise... Ich bin in Katherine! Letzte Nacht angekommen.
:) Von wegen Not Today, Not Tomorrow...

Ok, back to the travels... I'm in Katherine! Arrived last night. Just on the road with a woman from Cologne, who was 'only' here for 6 months and is going home in 5 weeks. Friggin Farewell Atmosphere! After we hitched and hiked through Kakadu National Park together (bloomin brilliant, report will follow), we decided to do the journey to Cairns together. Were planning to leave last Thursday... Wanted first to earn a bit of money driving Rikschas and cleaning engine room of luxury boat, but didn't work out.
Could finally tear us away from the Frogshollow in Darwin. At half 4 walked into a truck stop, 2 seconds later the phone lines were buzzing, 10 mins later we had a lift and within the hour we were sitting on our first road train. We love the Northern Territory! :) None of that Not Today, Not Tomorrow...
Checked into Cocos at half 1 this morning, where we met another nice backpacker from Fiji, who was still awake and willing to welcome new people.
Katherine is like everything not on the coast in the middle of nowhere and shines through dust and more or less ugly 'architecture'. A weird feeling, walking through Woolies with the aboriginal community on the search for milk, singing along to the music from the speakers... and through it aaaall she offers me proteeection, a lottaluv and affeeection, whether it's right or wrong...
