New
I just spent the last night in my current room, my 3-week sanctuary. This morning I receive the keys to my new room, tonight mum and me are going to Sachsen-Anhalt to a family festivity (the coming-of-age party of one of my 2nd cousins) and on Sunday when we come back I will be in my new place. It's a flat which is being done up at the moment, where I was offered one room which is already finished. It is completely empty, so no furniture, no washing machine, no internet connection. It's very cenral though, so I'm envisaging sipping drinks outside of cafes with my laptop, using their hotspots, for uploading photos, or for using skype to talk to Pete, 2 things I can't do with my mobile.
The advantage of the flat is, I will live there on my own and I will have peace. It's an old house with dead corners and the need for renovations and the most endearing feature is the unsightly roof of the lower floor outside my window, cased in by 2 other, higher walls - which I can use as a little private terrace and from which I have a nice view of the little green garden - a perfect spot for painting!

Yesterday I did a try out day as a barmaid in one of our favourite lakeside cafes from 3 years ago. Unfortunately the weather was bad and it was dead, so nothing much to do - or show - so I have to do another try out next week. It was fun though, I enjoyed myself, and I hope I get a job there.

I'm trying to surround myself with beauty and hope and fun in May.

We want Sex

"We want sex". Grins.

If there's anything you don't understand, please ask! That's what the comments are for!

Sick

Fuck Region Codes
I also had 7 DVDs from the library for my lonely Easter weekend. I have just had a beautiful fish dinner after a day of painting and thought I'd lean back and watch one of them. Oh no - not possible. "Your computer's dvd drive is not set to this region code". I forgot the mother of all consumer highway robbery - if you have a life that is spent in different countries or a partner from a different "region", you have to buy a dvd player / computer in each of those countries or you have to buy your dvds twice. (The irony is, we now do own 2 computers. This one I'm writing from, which was bought in England but has now got it's "region code" forever set to Australia and Pete's new notebook, which - you guessed it - was bought in Australia. So we're still buggered.) As we have dvds from Germany, England and Australia, we have in the last 4 years we owned this laptop used up all the 'free region changes' and our laptop is now set to Australia, because that's where the last dvd we watched was from last year. Obviously they tell you that there is a limit on region changes AFTER you've done the last one.

Now I sit here with my lovely pile of carefully selected films from the local library I felt so smug about yesterday, as they were free hence just within this month's budget. My german dvd player and all our dvds (some of which being from the appropriate flipping region) are in some box in some corner of my parents' house. The shared flat I live in doesn't have a telly. And I was really, really looking forward to watching a movie tonight.
Argh! I find this unbelievable, still - even though Pete and me have already complained our heads off about this at lenght! I buy a product. I pay tax for it when I buy it. Then I can't use it, because I'm in the wrong place. (ok, ok, I didn't actually pay for THESE dvds. But someone did!) I mean, laptops are MEANT to travel, right? How can this be? How can this POSSIBLY be in this world we live in? Oh globalisation! Hail you!
*wanders off ranting some more*
Joggen
Man tut viele, viele kleine Flüge.

Love actually
I want to be able to love. I want to love. Loving feels so much better. I want to trust. To let myself fall. To be caught. To be free. Free to love.

Over and out.

Up and Down
I'm having a bad day today. Things have just "crept up on me" today. I wish I could just hide somewhere for a couple of days. But I've got a cake to bake, an art stall to put up and run tomorrow and in the evening friends coming round to play cards. I'm sure it's all good for me, but I still wish I could just sit in a corner and cry and read a book and eat chocolate instead. *sigh*

*seufz*

Home
I have my own space since Monday. It's just a room in a shared flat and it's just for 3 weeks, but truthfully - it's heaven. Privacy and Peace.

Zuhaus
