Ich schaute also genauer hin.

Wasp on the windscreen
Normality or a wonder of technical Evolution?
On the way home today - after a less than enjoyable week at work, I should add - this wasp suddenly appeared on my windscreen at a traffic light. Yes, my bike's in the garage! ;) As it turned green (no, not the wasp) and I sped up to 40m/h, I was thinking "poor thing, now it's trapped and can't take back off, look, the little legs are already bent from being pressed against the glass by the slip stream." At the next traffic light it didn't fly off though, as I had expected, no - it stayed put, expectantly somehow. On the next 40m/h-stretch it started to systematically clean itself in the wind, first the feelers, then its little mouth, its bottom andsoforth - and seemed to use the wind as extra high pressure cleaning system. I was impressed! This went on for a while more, until I blinked and the wasp was gone. At 40 miles! Trapped in the slipstream? Psaw!
